Financial Services Golf Day 2009.
On Tuesday 19th May 2009, the Financial Services department hosted clients at its annual golf outing at the Royal Dublin Golf Club.
The weather started off promising but just before first tee time at 2pm the heavens opened. We had been promised scattered heavy showers, clouds drifted over the bay and there were brief dry spells and even a ray of sunshine crept through but the description of two hours of rainfall as a “shower” had some looking for a trade description person!.
Despite the conditions, everyone enjoyed the day and managed to get around in good time allowing us all to be seated for dinner by 8.30pm. The course was in great condition, with greens fast and true.
After dinner, Kevin Hoy, Partner and Head of Financial Services thanked everyone for their participation in such a successful day and then went on to host the prize ceremony.
Congratulations to the winning team- pictured above, hosted By MH & C’s Paul Convery, with fellow team mates Pat Hanley (ACC), Andrew Bowan ( Barclays) and Trevor Murphy ( Bank of Scotland, Ireland)
Second place went to last years winner Eithne Redmond with team mates Brian McGuinness ( NIB), Ray Wheatley (ACC Bank) and Colin O’Regan (Bank of Ireland)
Eithne Redmond, after admittedly trying very hard for 4 years straight, finally and impressively took home the longest drive, and Conal Clancy ( a retired partner and former head of Litigation) produced nearest to the pin with 45 inches.
