Corporate Governance Presentation to IMCA
Mason Hayes & Curran were delighted to present to the members of Institute of Management Consultants and Advisors in the Burlington Hotel on 29th January 2009. The presentation was well attended by a large number of independent management consultants and business advisors as well as representatives from medium and large international organisations and state agencies.
The presentation was entitled "Corporate Governance and Key Company Law Issues in Challenging Economic Times" with the theme of the presentation focusing on how companies and directors should approach a more challenging economic environment. Dick Woulfe examined the law relating to Redundancy from an employer's perspective and updated the members on recent developments in case law. Ronnie Neville discussed the legal requirements which apply when seeking to vary the terms of an employment contract.
Dylan Latimer spoke about the duties, responsibilities and potential liabilities of directors and how they should seek to conduct themselves when facing financial uncertainty. Gerard Ryan fielded a Q and A session at the end of the presentations.
