Mason Hayes & Curran and Ernst & Young were delighted to host a security breach breakfast briefing on the morning of Wednesday 11th June at Mason Hayes & Curran’s offices.
This session focused on the factors that need to be considered when managing the risks of security breaches in Irish organisations, and provided guidance on managing a security breach, should it occur.
This was quite a topical discussion which considered recent security breach incidents involving the disclosure of personal data. The risks arising from such breaches were considered including damage to reputation, potential regulatory sanctions as well as the costs and damages which may arise from civil court cases relating to a breach.
Speakers Philip Nolan, Partner, Mason Hayes & Curran and Michael Harris, Director, Ernst & Young jointly addressed security as a critical business risk and how to best manage this risk.
The briefing was concluded with an interactive questions and answers session.
