Mark Browne Appointed as Partner in The Investment Funds Department

Mason Hayes & Curran, one of Ireland’s top 6 law firms, announced the appointment of Mark Browne as a Partner in its Investment Funds Department.

Commenting on the appointment, Fionan Breathnach, Head of Investment Funds at Mason Hayes & Curran, said: “We are delighted to announce Mark’s appointment, which co-incides with recent legislation facilitating the re-domiciling of off-shore funds to Ireland. It is estimated that there are over 200 funds with combined assets of $60bn ready to re-domicile. Mark’s experience of both Irish and off-shore fund structuring will assist in the continued growth of our Investment Funds practice, which has been driven by our commitment to an innovative, responsive and commercial service for  our clients”.

Mark has over 10 years experience in the funds industry and advises on all aspects of the structuring, establishment and ongoing operation of investment funds in Ireland. In particular, he advises on the redomiciliation of offshore funds to Ireland and the restructuring of hedge funds as UCITS.

Prior to joining Mason Hayes & Curran, Mark practised for four years as an Attorney-At-law specialising in hedge funds in a leading law firm in the Cayman Islands. He also previously worked in the investment funds department of another leading Irish law firm and for a service provider in Luxembourg.
