SCL was established in the United Kingdom in 1973. Its objectives are to encourage the development of law; IT related law and their interrelationship. The SCL membership comprises of Lawyers, government officials, IT consultants, IT personnel and those employed in software and hardware sectors.
Deborah Hutton, of Mason Hayes & Curran and chairperson of the SCL Irish Chapter says: "Our membership has grown and is continuing to grow very rapidly ever since the Irish chapter was set up. The Irish Chapter sees itself as bringing a further dimension to the relationship between law and IT, and co-operation with other organisations with an interest in these areas. The meeting next Tuesday, should therefore be of value to anyone with interest in the interplay between law and IT."
The cost for attendance at the meeting is €15.00 for SCL members and €20.00 for non-members.
