Mason Hayes & Curran Strengthen Life Sciences Practice

Mason Hayes & Curran have appointed Martin Kelleher as the firm's head of Life Sciences.
Mr. Kelleher has extensive experience in the life sciences industry and previously worked in the US and Ireland for the global biotechnology company Elan Corporation plc. His expertise includes providing legal advice on discovering, developing, manufacturing and marketing medical products.
Commenting on the appointment Declan Moylan, MHC Managing Partner, said Kelleher was returning to Ireland from New York at an exciting time in the development of Ireland's life sciences industry. "Ireland continues to attract significant inward investment in the biotechnology sector and, through government support, is establishing a growing indigenous industry. The sector is predicted to be a major basis for future Irish economic growth and the Mason Hayes & Curran Life Science practice will focus on both inward investment and early-stage biotechnology companies," he said.
Among the key challenges facing the Irish sector biotechnology sector is transferring research from the academic laboratory into a commercial venture. The role of Mason Hayes & Curran is to assist companies in crossing this bridge and develop successful commercial ventures.
