Maritime
In December of 1999 the Irish Government established a new agency, the Irish Maritime Development Organisation (the “IMDO”), responsible for the development of a shipping services cluster in Ireland. Since its inception, the IMDO has had a number of significant achievements ensuring a steady growth in the Irish shipping industry. By introduction of a competitive tonnage tax regime rivalling European counterparts, a number of major international shipping groups have established dedicated marine operations in Ireland.
The development of the Mason Hayes+Curran maritime team reflects this rapidly growing national and international industry. The team has significant international experience and background in handling contentious and non-contentious maritime matters and has the ability and depth of knowledge to advise you on all aspects of maritime law. Areas that we can advise you include:
- contentious shipping disputes
- tonnage tax and related taxation issues
- ship finance transactions
- maritime regulatory issues
- drafting and negotiation of Shipping Contracts to include charterparties, bill of lading contract, ship management agreements, crewing agreements, supply vessel agreements and shipbuilding contracts
- enforcement of maritime security including the arrest of ships
- salvage issues
To find out more about how we can assist you and your shipping interests please contact one of the team members listed below.
